Catering Services
USC Upstate Dining
Services handles all food orders for events on
the campus of The USC Upstate. Contracts will be
sent to the requesting party for approval and signature.
Please review all information thoroughly prior
to approval and contact the catering office immediately
with any changes.
Room Requests
All room requests must go through the Special Events
Office before food requests can be fulfilled. Once
a room has been confirmed, on-campus groups should
then forward a "Catering Request" form
to Dining Services. All food requests for events
to be billed to a university account must have the
account to be charged when the reservation is requested.
Food
Requests
Food requests should be made
to our office a minimum of two (2) weeks prior
to the scheduled event date. Orders received
with less than five (5) working days notice may
incur additional costs.
Estimates and
Guarantees
Dining Services must have
an estimated number of guests with your food requests.
In the case of an increase or decrease of +/- 25%
between the estimated and guaranteed counts, Dining
Services reserves the right to refigure the quoted
price.
Estimates are not considered firm until the contract
is approved, and the final count is received.
Guaranteed counts are due as follows:
- Served
Meals : Five (5) working days notice.
- Special
Dietary Requests: Five (5) working days notice.
- All
Other Events: Five (5) working days notice
for on-campus group events.
Please note that weekend event guaranteed counts
are due by the preceding Tuesday for on-campus group
events, and the Friday, one-week prior, for all served
meals and off-campus group events.
Billing
Billing will be for the guaranteed amount
plus any extras. In the event that less than the
guaranteed count attends, the guaranteed count will
be billed. Should Dining services not receive a guaranteed
count by the deadline, then the guaranteed count
will be billed. Event pricing is based on events
lasting 2 hours from serve time to start of cleanup
time. Additional time may be charged for labor at
1-1/2 times the going hourly rate.
Cancellations
Groups are responsible
for informing Dining Services if an event is cancelled.
To avoid any billing, Dining Services must receive
this cancellation notice at least two (2) working
days prior to the scheduled event time. Cancellations
after this deadline may result in a partial billing
to the contracted party.

All prices are subject to 8% SC sales tax, and are
10% service charge on all catering events. Any events
outside of Campus Life Center will be served on disposable
dishware.
